I stayed away from pre-workouts ever since USB Labs was putting that ingredient in their Jackd that was killing people. Had heart surgery when I was a baby so I thought it was wise to stay clear of all pre-workouts until the smoke clears. I've noticed tho that after a cycle, pre-workouts help a lot, anyone have some good recommendations? I've heard GAT's is a good one but I'm weary bout trying it..

I don't feel pre workouts are healthy and should not be consumed regularly IMHO. I feel all the stimulants dehydrate me. Mostly I train at almost 8pm and they would keep me up until 2am lol.

I prefer to keep it simple and healthier. I like labrada power carb(Karbolyn with electrolytes added), 5 grams micronized Bcaa, beef isolate protein, dessicated beef liver(full amino complex).

That's the best simple combo I've found yet. The Bcaa, aminos, and Karbolyn really keep me fueled and not gassing out so fast. Not heavy I just ate a meal bloating feeling like trying to eat a meal before training can often do.

I occasionally use iforce maximize....which used to have a nice warm up effect and then let you crash... but they keep changing the formula ...

the current version is just way too strong and the flavor used to be good.. now it is really bitter...I just pound down a half dose..

they advertise stacking it with Hemavol. I tried that a couple times ...it gets a little bit too intense .. gives a freaky intense pump .. and a couple a couple days later I had a blood test and the doc ask what I was doing ..my kidney and liver numbers were a little off ...

Cellucor C4 Extreme is the wife and my favorite, I also like the occasional TNE blast too :D. No but seriously C4 and another I use is Noxipro. You are probably smart limiting your use if you had heart surgery when younger, coffee or green tea is a good option too.

I actually tried C4 a few times, can't remember if I liked it or not. Maybe I'll just stick with the coffee/carb mix, I LOVE black coffee, and it seems a little safer and healthier.

This is probably a long shot, but has anyone tried Tectanic from Protein Factory?? Looks healthy but the price is insane...

I did a ECA stack for years before working out ..
before idiots learned to cook Ephedra into Meyth you could buy a bottle of 100 for about $5 , a bottle would last months ... it was a good pump up and got the blood flowing.... but I tell you right now it effected your sleep ...you could not take that any where's close to bed time .. you can still get ephedrine in blister packs ( to slow the meyth heads down... and no big deal to me) but it was $40 for 100... I am curious if all these laws did anything to slow the use of meyth ..

but I digress coffee will keep you up , and all these stims are probably bad for you...

I'll have to check out this C4 Extreme. I've tried Jack3d a couple times in the past and it helped give me that extra "umph" to really push myself. How's it compare to the that?

It is comparable IMO, without 1,3 Dimethylamylamine...the creatine nitrate gives a really nice pump throughout the workout too. I think you will like it Sis...the Noxipro does have 1, 3 D in it but sometimes at 4:30 am that is welcomed. I liked Jack3D, Assault was ok...just the size of the scoops were a bit large, and some others I can't recall the name of.

Lol what do u speak of??

There's this Eskimo looking chick that went to the golds I used to go to. She wore a thick PL belt and was always doing OHP,squats, BP etc. I never payed much attention to her cause she was hideous lol. Well one day she asks me for a spot on bench. I was like hmmm curious what she puts up....I go over there and she literally has a 10lb plate and a 5 on each side.....I was like WTF I assume she is being lazy and called me over to help load up the bar for her! Nope! She gets under the bar and I was like WTF she has to be messing with me?? Am I on candid camera or some shit?? Nope! She wanted a spot for that weight!

My buddy in the gym saw the whole
Thing unfold and died laughing when I came his way!! He was like WTF was that all about??? I was flabbergasted! I was like bro I have no clue what just happened!

What happened is they decided to run anything and everything to win and set new records. They weren't pretty to begin with so they didn't care what happened to them. April is damn near bald and weighs in around 260. Personally, I don't think she has helped our sport at all. If that's what it takes to bench 405 raw..... than I don't want to achieve that.

The supplement company MHP makes Protein Pudding, what I would think just a cute marketing tactic...a 14 year old girl, WHO IF THAT WAS MY DAUGHTER I WOULD BE HELLA PROUD, bench pressing 310lbs off a can of pudding...get it? She must be a daughter or sister of a powerlifter.

Do or can any of you bench with what would be considered a very wide grip?

I am honestly at the point that I may have to drop barbell for dumbbell completely. I was benching 350 for reps a few months ago well on my way back to over 400 and my left shoulder has gotten so bad now that I can't warmup with the bar without excruciating pain. I can't even sleep on my left side anymore? If I even try to flex my traps the pain is intense in my left shoulder.

But get this, I can military DB press with 100s with almost no pain during the movement. Any of you dealt with anything similar. It really seems that flat or decline I have pain, but the more I raise the incline the pain lessens?? I don't have time for doctors or surgery but fear I may be headed there. Any advice/insight/personal experience is greatly appreciated!

I've never tried benching that wide of a grip before. I realize they do it to lessen the distant the bar has to travel. I'm
Still doing more of a hybrid approach vs full on PL.
My right shoulder was getting inflamed during benching but I attributed to poor form as I am new to bar benching. I always used DB or hammer machines before as I train alone. I recently bought a mark bell slingshot to help me keep proper form. It has my shoulder doesn't bother me anymore and I'm benching more then I ever have.

I also warm up with band pull aparts. The gym doesn't have the exact band they use they have more like sling shot material ones with handles on each end. I just grab the tube portion and let the handles flop around.
I only go through the circuit 1 time
Through as to not totally fatigue the rotator cuff. Once done with my chest/benching work I do 2 more circuits.

I will look up that mark bell slingshot. I wish my shoulder pain was just when benching. I get it washing my hair and brushing my teeth. Can barely lift my arm above my head today. Taking a couple days off and icing it to see if it feels a little better.

U can't put perfume on a pig bro....it's still a pig.

If its that bad it's prob surgery time. I'd lay of bar benching and try those band pull aparts. If that doesn't help....surgery time IMHO.

You guys are right but I have come so far and just cant imagine a forced layoff of any kind. It flared up real bad like this a few months ago. I switched to DB for chest presses and military for awhile and the pain became much more manageable. Will try that again and lighten up for 4 weeks. If it is still this bad I will go to the doctor.

I had hurt my back real bad several years ago. Gained a ton of weight over a couple years as I couldnt work out and then just lost my desire the worse I felt and looked. When I felt better I couldnt believe what I had "let"happen to my physique. I weighed in last week and finally broke the 100lbs lost mark. I am down 101.2 as we sit today. I cant stop now!

A loooooooooooooooooooooonnnnng time ago I hurt my shoulder doing behind the neck press..........had to have surgery to repair shoulder impingement.........fucking thing has never been right and like you flat and decline aggravate it.

Inclines are ok but everytime I go back to flat I get hurt.

All I do are inclines now

I'll probably never do flat heavy again........flat DB movements are ok

If had a do over I should have just chained myself to the squat rack for 6 months and it may have corrected itself (maybe) surgery didn't help (me) in IMO

Thx MA, i do incorporate floor presses. They now hurt when they didnt before. I find it interesting that as soon as I start adding incline the pain reduces? Flat to decline is excruciating.

Glad I am not crazy. Usually people struggle with incline or military. Like you, my issue is flat to decline. Hell, if I raise the incline on the bench one notch up from flat the pain reduces very noticably. Maybe I should just use common sense and stop doing things that hurt. LOL!

Yup! Strength and size are often misleading! IMHO strength is genetic. It's about tendon and ligament tie in points. Sure anyone can become stronger but some guys just have it!

My buddy benches 465 for reps at 225lbs on his last set not just 1rm starting fresh. He is close to 505. seated military presses 365. I don't care WTF I do....I could never catch his ass.
