How to jailbreak your iPhone or apple device

Im gonna explain how to jailbreak your iPhone, iPod, or iPad. You can easily find out how using google although it can be intimidating for some people because of all the different options. It is pretty easy and FREE It's not illegal in any way, it's safe, and you can always restore your iPhone to remove the jailbreak if you need to take your iPhone to the apple store or send it in for warranty.

Benefits

I'm not going to get into detail, but basically there are tons of reasons and benefits to jailbreak your iPhone. Among those reasons you have the ability to customize your phones appearance, not a big deal but let's face it the way the iPhone is laid out looks boring. You will have access to 3rd party apps, apple is very restrictive when it comes to what apps they want to allow in the app store and this new "app store" has lots of very usefull and entertaining apps to make your iPhone work both efficiently and easily such as allowing you to download bigger files without the need of a wifi network. The last benefit I'll talk about is Installous. This is an app that will allow you to download paid apps for Free. I don't think you need more reason as to why this is good other than the word free lol.

How to do it

Ok so you've decided to jailbreak your iPhone or apple device, 1st thing you need to do is to hook up you device to iTunes and back it up so you don't lose anything from it if the jailbreak fails (probably wont but just in case) at this point update your device if there is an available update. Next find out what software version your device is on so you know what jailbreak will work for your device, to do this go to settings, general, about, then scroll down to VERSION and write it down so you don't forget.

If you have an older iPhone or iPod you may be able to jailbreak your device with the need of a computer (still follow the previous steps), go to www.Jailbreakme.com if your lucky you will have a slider on your screen, just slide it to begin jailbreaking, once its finished and reboots find the Cydia icon that is now on your screen and open it and let it prepare itself, after it's done go to manage account and set it up. Your done.

If your device is not compatible with the above process it will say so as soon as the website is pulled up but will say TRY HERE click it. Now look through the various options it gives you while paying attention to both the device and IOS version (the version you wrote down) select the appropriate one for you.
