Thanks everyone! this board is great, I'm not really upset, I knew it was coming and he lived a life as full and rich as anyone could hope for. He had health problems the last few years, and decided no more meds, I just want to go home. He is in a better place with my mother who passed a few years ago.

My grandfather just passed, he was 93, and he said it was 'time to go home' he worked out 3 days ( weights and cardio )a week up until recently he is a testimony to what exercise and clean eating can do. RIP

93 these days is a noteworthy age to healthily reach. I'm sorry for your loss but I'm sure he's in a better place now. If your family partakes in a celebration of life I hope for the best. If not I simply wish you and your family the best in helping each other come together and begin easing the pain of his passing.
