Re: wow.... what a meat head ...

I am doing my own reply...I was kind of harsh on this guy , but hear me out .
this guy has a heart issue ...may or may not have been brought on by his lifestyle ..I am not going there
I feel sorry for him and everything.. but the doc say stop lifting to get healthy you do it .. I went through something like this and the doc said do aerobics stop lifting I did it for a year ( I have heard the explanation 100 times and still thought was strange ...but it did work)

this video F'd with my head a little ... and that is why I posted it ..
you only get one heart , and you look at the bag of drugs he is taking ..it is failing .. and he is trying to get a pump?
while he is having trouble walking on the beach.. I understand he is at a much higher level than I ever will be and is far more addicted to the pump.. but still "wake up and smell the coffee or you be one of those that leaves a great looking corpes buddy"

I will get off my soap box now

I feel for him. Jumping on the soap box... control and accuracy is important (granted this is bro science) but shoving anything into your body is going to lead to bad things. IMO if your feeding your body with drugs, pay out the same you do for the AAS and get your ass in the docs for screening regularly. Be honest and upfront with them. Patient confidentiality can go a long way in avoiding these sad moments.

With any type of lifestyle you choose there are risks; whether it be bodybuilding, skydiving, rockclimbing, etc., etc. Your body is your temple and you have that obligation to minimize those risks. That's why it is so important to get bloodwork done and listen to your doctor if you decide to do AAS or any other questionable substance over an extended period of time. Just my 2cc's worth...

I can see how that can and did fuck with your head a bit X, but keep in mind...20+ years of doing AAS and who knows if he blast & cruised, my guess is not!!! He probably just kept on cycle/blasts for the entire time. It has to put a message in the backs of everyone's heads here, like BigBones said regular blood work to see how the body is doing, regular physicals with your doctor, and giving the body a break regularly. In his condition of body dis morphia he probably never wanted to lose any of his conditioning so just kept on going. Look at Rich Piana who has been doing the same for over 23 years since he was a teen, Chris Dim who I seen at a show in a wheel chair as he tried to get back into it after having heart surgery and now is confined to a wheel chair for the rest of his life, Mike Matarazzo and his double heart surgeries, all these guys I am sure were pounding not only high volumes of AAS, but pounds of red meat, high protein diets, nutrition may have been dialed to build mass 100% of the time and then what you put your body through to get stage ready with diuretics, water depletion, all of this combined will put stress on your vitals. I just got done with my competition and am now going to cruise on low test TRT and nothing else for a good few months, let the body recuperate and rest. Then add in fat burners, PWO's, and supplements that also need cycling and time off so the body doesn't get all stimmed out all the time. There are so many more aspects to this story that aren't really touched on, how many shows has he done in his career, doses of what he was taking, exactly what he was taking...the media is just focusing on AAS and other illegal drugs, what are those they are referring to? Was he taking insulin? Was he partying on coke and drinking alcohol, or pain pills for injuries??? I feel sorry for him, he has a great physique...BUT what precautions was he taking while on this 20 year ride to the top of his bodybuilding career???

Yeah MA that did freak me for a combination of things ...
first I suspect this guy had a stroke or something..., next that he can't stop lifting.. if you can not walk on the beach you are not stable enough to be lifting.. then he does a set and is winded ..
they said he is going through heart failure .. and yet there he is putting more stress on it than is probably good for him.. needing help from falling indicates you shouldn't be benching ....

I thought I was addicted to lifting... well it is like find out a causal drunk can turn into a Street Bum
I guess I didn't realize how deep that rabit hole goes

Glad to hear you are taking a break...
like I said this f'd with my head a little

We need to take the time to slow down, let body reset, do a cleanse and detox, keep nutrition in check, train hard always, and as far as supplements...I am still learning and I rep for Muscle Research, but I have my staple support and annual supplements I use, do my best to keep healthy and live the lifestyle of us 5%.
