man there are a million options out there ... I gotten it down to a few model's ... it quickly escalated out of control.. I am looking at a $750 model right now. I am looking for 17 inch Screen and 1080P . and that get's me up there to the top of line laptops..but the higher resolution is something that will solve a lot a couple problems ..
Whats the need on the 1080?
well I attended a webex class a couple times a week, we get the chat window, the audio control and teachers desktop and that chat windows is always in the way
SO I need the desktop space...they do make a 15 inch 1080 p however the icons and fonts are tiny
Im still confused on why you need 1080P. I could be wrong but does the teacher stream 1080 (most likely 480 or 720) or do they record in 1080 (thats one bulky video for teaching imo - then again I have no.idea what the the class/track of study is dictacting the need for such low level detail like I needed in Med school).
Icons and fonts you can blow up through the display settings in windows. Is that what you need to be larger or in the video/stream itself?
I only ask cuz I don't want to see you waste money. <3
No it is a webex session, and the teacher streaming at say 1280 by 800, then you have a chat window which I would like to get out of the way from the Teachers window and move to the side , and have a small amount of space left over for a mail window... I found a 15 inch that does 1080P and that looked like a good deal ..
I actually found one for under $500 that is 17" and 1080 P and an i5
the $750 one was a deal through work and was an i7 ,16 gb , and 1 tb hybrid drive ( way over the top glorious over kill )
I personally have ruled out touch screen , because I hate finger prints
just say Best buy had a 13 inch with 3200 by 1800 ...wow that is a little ridiculous
Oh so you have a resolution size requirement. That makes sense, have more space to have more open without visual overlap.
Also, sounds like you dont need high end graphics (1080P level of detail).
I can find you a really good deal for under
$500 that will exceed your needs. 500+GB, i7 quad core, 8GB ram and resolution (screen space) up to 1900x1300 or so.
Let me know and I will post you some suggestions.
the new ones are coming with the 5th generation processor ... so I have been searching a round . I7 is overkill for a laptop ,and will just suck down power...
I saw today that the 4k models are coming ( wow those are ridiculous 3200 by 1800 and that was a 13 inch ! )
I don't like touch screen ( am I the only one freaking over finger prints on the screen? I think I must be in the minority here )
pm me with some choices .. I am willing to look Thanks
been having computer issue ( beside this one) and rather than reinstall on a new one ,reconfigure . copy over emails etc
I bought a display on Ebay ( punch in my model number out pops 5 displays vendors) and I will tell you this..
If you own a Toshiba ...replacement took just over an hour , and that was me going slow.. this feels like coming home
Windows 10 is coming 4k displays are coming , I think it would be better to wait
Beside I prefer windows 7 and Linux
Smart man.
