weight can contribute to the issue, but the doc said the big factor was neck size ...
he also said it can happen to anyone. and mention a basketball player and
a tiny little old lady that was on maximum pressure and they could figure her out
The neck can have a lot to do with it. Anything over 17" mostly. (and mine is a 21" and fat. haha) Reason is once you hit Stage 3/4 sleep, your muscle relax and that's what causes the sleep apnea. You are woken up from this, so you can't stay in 3 or for long enough for your body do it's thing. Reggie White had died from sleep apnea. You know he was in pretty good shape.
What happens is your airway collapses and you stop breathing, wake up and do it again. Most of the time you don't even know you are waking up. There is also a piece of flesh in your throat that also falls down when your sleeping and causes you to snore and stop breathing. It just plain socks.

Absolutely. Sucks big time. I'm hoping I have enough happen that they split the night. A few buddies told me to please split my night so I won't have to come in for another.
That's really help me out to get the CPAP and not have to get another 1000.00 deductible.

Just had my exam. Taking with the lady, she's going to see about getting my night split. Meaning if I get 20 or more events in the first of the night, they will add me to the CPAP machine and get my air adjusted. She's ding this since I have surgery coming up.
