Well, I'm screwed then. I had 52 events in my sleep study and before it, I barely had more than 2 maybe 3 hours of sleep at night when I laid down at 9PM and alarm set for 6.

And holy shit on surgery. Although, I think I'd do that (if it worked) over the CPAP, but I didn't investigate it enough to see if I need to.

Oh I would get it done but I can't take off from work. If I skip a week of work I will have to start all over because I will lose my accounts.

I was told I need to do a sleep study and doc was 99% sure I would fail. They wanted to do surgery not cpap. My tongue needs to be cut and moved forward, tonsils removed and nasal passages roto rootered. Didn't do sleep study because if you fail a sleep study it's damn near impossible to get life insurance after.

If you decide to go that route, get that policy before you do and see if it needs to be active for awhile. Have you only been told this by one doc? If it were I, I would definitely get a second opinion. that is quite invasive

A good friend of mine had this surgery and said it was the most painful worst recovery he could imagine. Weeks of it. Only worked about 80% and wishes he'd just gone to CPAP. Completely rearranged the soft palate and it's now very sensitive to stuff. Can't smoke cigars anymore and has trouble being around a campfire.

wtf ,,, a sleep study is $400 and a cpap is another $400 ( insurance cost that is)
and that would not even cover the anaesthesiologist for surgery ... you would think they would try that first

This was several years ago my insurance would cover cpap but not surgery but I needed to get life insurance so I didn't do the sleep study.
