Anyone else here live in an hoa? Just got a $200 fine for not pulling weeds I'm pretty pissed off about it

I issued to and it was a huge pain in my ass having to go through them to do anything. The guy that built right next door to me got fined 1500 for not getting his yard in within 6 months.

Damn...could have bought a weed whacker for that price, or paid a neighborhood kid $50 to pull your weeds for you!!!

You can ask to go in front of the board to dispute this fine. Especially if you were not issued a warning letter first

Laws are different in some states but there are laws in place that the Association has to follow. We give 1 warning letter, than fine. Homeowners can dispute this and if you have never had any issues before, they should really give you a chance to ix this in a stated time frame.

They said I can fix it the dispute the fine she said there was no warning because I've been in violation for over 3 years. Thing is I only bought the house two years ago. Also y just now after 3 years are they issuing a fine. And where did they come up w $200 seems like a lot I was honestly thinking like 50 or 60

I use to. Biggest waste of money I've ever spent. I feel better giving money every month to my insurance that I've never had to use rather than an hoa. My latest home I bought I made sure wasn't hoa controlled. I'll never buy a home again that has an hoa.

I'm hopefully moving soon and youre right the next home i buy will not have an hoa
