What's the computer doing exactly? Any particular error message?

If the hard drive is crashed some of it might be recoverable. Depends on how degraded and damaged the file structure is.

It does make sense. So you are running dual bootable opperating systems on separate hd? Best bet may be takin it to a place depending on how tech savy you are. If there was no important data just grab an new hd and reinstall windows.

Have you tried booting the busted drive in safe mode with a windows disk to repair it?

It does sound crashed though it's exactly what my work comp did about 3 months ago except it wasnt a dual hd

Yeah its 2 physical drives in the same PC, both bootable.
Did try running in safe mode, would not do it. crap.....
now have the drive sitting in front of me. Banged it around a bit and gonna try it again. There some stuff I need on there, too bad for me.

Not screwed on the data in the old harddrive yet. If you take it to a good computer tech he could possibly retrieve some. I've seen people get data off of smashed computers out of the trash. It all depends on the level of damage within the hard drive and what is wrong with the drive itself.

The data is written to magnetic disks and has to be written over several times to truly be gone.
