Yup, I'll eat real food..........the only time I use shakes is if I can't get quality food.

One post workout. Some times if im in a hurry I'll grab one of those already made EAS ones and a Handful of Almonds as a quick snack if I feel it'll be a while before I can eat or if I'm just hungry.

              Re: Protein shakes

I throw it in my oatmeal the AM. I sometimes have 3 shakes a day tops. Usually two if you count the proatmeal as a shake.

lately I've been eating 5 eggs, 1 yoke and two hash brown patties lol. I press the shit out of them though to decrease the oil content. Its flat when I get done excreting the grease out throw that on top of my scramble eggs one slice cheddar and mix up. Hot sauce and your g2g..usually have that 1.5 hr after my protein oatmeal. Its good ....like really good

On my heavy carb days for breakfast...

Preworkout - 1/2 cup Carbmaster Yogurt and a Jazz Apple from New Zeland

Postworkout - 2 scoops protein powder, BCAA's and a Onion Bagel. Take this driving home from the gym.

After my shower - 1 regular egg, 1/2 cup egg whites, 1 oz shredded cheese, 4 pieces 7 Grain Sprouted Bread. 1 cup cooked oatmeal, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 1scoop protein powder and 1 Tbsp of Peanut Butter.

Big meals on high carb days. I love high carb days!!

One pre-w/o & one post w/o. Also mix in some carb powder too on w/o days.

                    Re: Protein shakes

^^^ Like the other fellas' said... try not to rely upon just protein powder by itself. A good rule of thumb is to consume AT LEAST 1 gram of protein per lb. of body weight. Good sources of protein are your meats (beef, chicken, pork, seafood), dairy products (milk, eggs, cheese), and nuts (peanuts, almonds, cashews, walnuts, etc.) AAS works hand-in-hand with protein & nitrogen synthesis. Food for thought!

                      Re: Protein shakes

On normal days I consume 300g of protein. I eat every 2.5 to 3 hours and average 2 protein shakes per day recently (50g). I try to get my nutrients from food but with work and travel inevitably I need to augment with shakes.
Mattingly is a fictitious role-playing character. Kind of like Dungeons & Dragons...but for really big, cool people! Not only does Mattingly not take AAS, I doubt he could spell AAS.

                          Re: Protein shakes

Normally I just use one post workout. Whole foods just treat my body better so i prefer to go that route unless in a big-time caloric surplus.

                            Re: Protein shakes

I've been on a perma bulk for the past 6 months or so. I was finally able to break the 200lb marker!!! If you knew how long I was stuck at the 185 you'd realize how excited this makes me. I usually drink 3 a day...morning, post-workout, and before bed. I also add about 4 ounces of egg whites to each shake. The weight gainer I'm using also has 600 calories that has made putting on the mass pretty easy. This is all done while eating to the point that my jaw is sore. Like everyone else has said, I prefer the food method more. The shakes leave me feeling bloated.
