  • pi-hole, and performance

    Well I don't want to get to technical, I recent installed a pi-hole .
the way the internet works is you type in an address in the browser and your computer contacts something called a domain name server (dns) and that gives you a link to the page
A pi hole is a dns in your house that responds with nothing for a list of web sites that are just advertisements.
Since I have slow dsl ( I had an issue with the cable company) I max out at 4 MB....
well after installing the pi-hole I found out I was blocking about 1/4 of the traffic ...and every thing is a lot more responsive...
the best part is you can hook it up to the vpn and vpn everything that is hooked up to the network ( which is the next step)
Working...
