Hostess sold out everywhere. Can't find any at Sam's or Costco. Shit. Walmart is bare. 7-11 out. Just saw a bread truck at Kum-in go. Going to trade the drive for some.

But the reason behind it is to avoid the labor strike. Instead of paying the employees what they want, it's cheaper for them to close than pay up. So I doubt they will reopen but I am hoping that someone buys up the trademark and starts making Zingers...

Btw, they showed on TV the other day that on eBay, the opening bid for 10 boxes of Twinkies = $1.5 million... Wtf?!

Production was shut down last Friday. It's costing them 1 million a day just to pay management while they go thru mediation with union.

i've never been a big fan of sweets so i'm not hurt over the shut down at all. this just shows what unions do to companies these days. IMO although i did have some Hostess chocolate cupcakes yesterday that were cream filled and they were fucking great.
