Wow... and for some reason everyone wants to move to this country because they think it's sooo great here. Just strengthens my point of moving back home at some point.

Some people want to regress instead of progress. The work that unions put in to give us 40 hour work weeks, benefits, vacation and time off for mothers is being stripped away by those that want to maximize profits for corporations.

        Where is home for you?

I always appreciate the opinion of those from other nations.

I do believe that I am very fortunate to have been born in the US, and that the US is ONE of the best nations, but we have this thing called US exceptionalism that conservatives preach which is nothing more than arrogance and a denial that there are things that other nations do better than us. As if arrogance and an unwillingness to learn from others are qualities we should strive for...

I've been union and non union, they have their place and can be great but at the same I dislike some union members mentality of if it ain't union it aint worth it or its bad quality and will make a big deal if a non union company gets a contract over them.

You make a great point. It's never black and white. Sometimes unions are needed, sometimes not. They have done amazing things for the working class, and they have sometimes been corrupt, like any other human organization. I've worked for hospitals that treated their workers well and didn't need a union.
