  • Rack them Weights...

I was talking to a friend of mine who's training at a commercial gym and all she had to talk about for the most part is how members of her gym don't re-rack their weights and so she's always unloading bars and machines that she wants to use.

I don't know about everyone here but I have no problem telling some little dipshit that he needs to rack his weights when he's done.

Thankfully, the gym I'm training at (which is kinda commercial) doesn't have this issue. I may not like some of the members but they all have gym ettiquette.

How do you feel about plates and DB's left out when you come to the gym??? Do you say something if you see someone walking about from a piece of equipment with the bar still loaded???

I go the gym as soon as it opens and the people that workout before it closes leave insane amounts if weight on almost everything. I'm talking like 1500lbs on the leg press machine and hundreds on the sitting calve machine. Pisses me off.

I hate it when lazy mofo's leave #100 plates on the leg press, some woman comes over to use it and if she tries to take those weights off she could really get hurt, I have seen what a 100# plate can do to a foot and it ain't pretty. No matter what I always stop what I'm doing to pull them off, it's also a nice way to be a gentleman to a lady, Sister I'm sure your an exception here, don't think you would have trouble with a 100#er.

I think that happens at almost every gym. I have only been to three that I remember that that didnt happen at. Two were on a military base and one was in California. The one in Calif. had a set of video cameras and they could see everything so if you didnt want to follow the rules, no problem but you would be banned, the next time you came to work out, until you paid your fine. One dollar for each infraction! The dumbbells and plates were one dollar each so the fine would mount up really fast. If you didnt want to pay thats ok you couldnt work out. If you claimed you didnt break the rules you got to watch the video. Very simple yet effective.
It happens a lot where I work out now. I usually dont see it happening when Im there, If it does I put a stop to it. If I have to move the weights out of my way I usually pile them in the corner.

I'd let you take the 100's off if they were on a bar I wanted to use.
