The main reason I'm not in bed with her now is I dinky want to keep her up snoring all night. Plus, I'm getting used to the recliner since that looks like it's going to be my bed for.

I figure the first couple nights with the CPAP, I'll go to bed with her then that FrSatSun I'll sleep in the recliner.

I joke it is worth it and I hope it's what gets me past this depressed shitty demeanor I've had.

    Thanks chesty!

Would you rather be an ass to your family and get closer to death everyday (heart failure) or wear this shit on your face and be the best you can and live longer?

At least that's what I hope for myself. I'll let you know by next weekend.

I know many guys who's lives have improved by CPAP. I'm a member of an organization that meets for a couple weeks every summer and retreats in the redwoods. I bet 50% of the guys use it and say it was the best thing they ever did. I think it's like the frog in the pot of hot water kind of thing. It's gradual and you don't realize that your own normal isn't normal at all.

I'm going in for my second study Tuesday. Hopefully it will be an accurate assessment. The first one didn't seem so. I've gotten a lot of solid advice about getting a better read this time from the clinic and others that have been tested.

It is a life changer. Just remember no hair on your upper lip and you will be fine. If you have a mustache or don't shave often you will not get a good seal. I tried a short nap today with no Cpap, started snoring inside of five minutes. Woke my ass up every time. Need Cpap or my mouth piece for apnea. It works really good too.

Hey SPP that review you gave of your experience while having the study... Was amazing! I felt like I was in the room with you the whole time! Very well written my friend. You should write a book or something lol I always enjoy reading your posts. I pray that this Cpap is the ticket for your well being and happiness in all aspects from your marriage to the relationship with your kids, family, and friends. I hope your wife responded well when she found out you were having the study and also when you got approved for the machine. How was that conversation on both ends? Curious as to what she had to say and how she responded. Good luck my friend!

I wouldn't believe anything negative. How could she be anything but all for it?

Re: SPP's Sleep Study Thread - Please join in with yours.

So I had my sleep study last night. There is apnea. Go in for the follow up in 10 days to see what next steps are.

Interesting, the first one I did about two years ago came back with no apnea. The technician came in around 3:00 am and removed the wires, told me to wake up and leave when I wanted, there was only slight snoring. I honestly never felt like I slept that night at all.

I have never been able to sleep on my back. My referring doc told me that for this test, to take a sleeping pill and try to sleep on my back. Took the pill, but when I tried to sleep on my back, after about 15 breaths, my throat would close so I could never actually sleep. I kept thinking this was post nasal drip or something. It's not. It's my throat closing.

This tech told me that even sleeping on my side that she observed me moving to my back during sleep and that's when the apnea came. That there are some folks who have it in all sleep positions, and some that only have it in certain others.

I'm glad to know and now know what the problem is.

                      Merry Christmas everyone.

Sorry, not hijacking your thread SPP, just same topic for more info.

Awesome! Great to hear. I'm on two nights with my CPAP and it's going well so far. Still trying to get the mask right and getting used it. I'll up date in a few days.

No worries, please feel free to post your experience and everything here. Anyone is welcomed to!

Remember too, to make sure you keep your nose clear or you will end up breathing thru your mouth, negating the benefit of the CPAP.

a strange benefit of the cpap is I seem to have less sinus infections , and can breathe much better first thing in the morning

My right nostril has been a little stuffy and I've noticed the different ways my mouth opens and makes strange sounds. Haha

My sinuses have been kicking because of the hot and humid weather in the Winter. Left nostril is a pita right now. I'm still a little stuffy in the mornings.
