  • future shock ---anyone else remeber this article?

realizing that 2015 ends in a couple days ... I had a flash back about a flex article
well back in 95 someone at flex magazine calculated that mr O was bigger and bigger ever year
and calculated that arnold would be competing at 307 lbs at 6'2"
playing with photo shop the showed the top 3 Mr O contestants for 2015
along with the Arnold at 307..., well Phil was 280 at 5'9" so the guess were a little low

Rammy was over 300 this year but as we all saw should have been under 300 and would have been a force to recon with!

So wouldn't they put him over the projection if Arnold was supposed to be 307 at 6' 2"? Sounds like they were about right.

I don't read muscle mags much. I don't go to the grocery store or places they sell them.

I don't but it hard for me to follow it that closely anymore. All those guys That are at that level because they are blessed with great parents and genetics. Sure they work their butts off but still most of us could not look the same way even we followed it (all of it) and never look like that. Not that size anyway.

                    I guess people want freaks...lol!

all good points, I just thought it would be funny to see this article 20 years later and say... "hmmm I remember that"
most of the time these predictions are way off....

can you image a 6'2" bb these days ..off season he would be pushing 350 easy ..

of course this comes from a time when I had nothing important to do and could think about weightlifting all the time

now I have bills to pay

Cool that you still had the article...Shawn Ray looked great at 205, was with him this past Summer at a show and he is such a good bro.

at one point I had a big apartment with a spare couple of rooms.... just stack up any magazines I had subscriptions to
well move to a smaller place ...and move a lot into storage ...and well... it stayed there for years a couple of moves
                          until I bought a place...
finally I moved them to my house and into the basement storage ...

don't know what I am going to do with about 1000 pristine Muscle mags from the 90's and earlier

brought it to the gym and showed a buddy of mine... he said I had that issue
and was amazed at the shape it was in

too bad it was nothing valuable like comic book or baseball cards
