How true. But as in earlier posts if people only knew what was being gathered about them they would freak. I can't remember who it was but when they use their laptop they always put tape over the camera. Maybe we should do that too and on our phones as well. I am sure there is a phone back for every type of phone out there and we won't know it till....

He may be considered a traitors but on the other hand most traitors want money and to my knowledge he didn't get a dime and didn't do it to help a foreign interest. He did what he did because he believed what the US was doing was off reservation concerning the Constitution. If those were his true motives the. He is not a traitor in the literal sense. And yes,an lot of what he says is down right disturbing.

I agree, I lean toward patriot.. after all the things he talks about are an invasion of privacy..
every body says fine it is ok to monitor the terrorist, but when it comes to my email, internet post and text, well wait a minute you are monitoring everyone... with out a warrant? how long can a warrant take, they have special judges specifically for national security issue ..

If you have credible probable cause and evidence a warrant takes a few minutes if the judges are available. Can take a few hours if you gotta find a judge. Per serving he constitution we all have the right to the reasonable expectation of privacy. Hillary and Obama seem to think otherwise as well as many in the govt on both sides of the spectrum.

the nsa, cia and fbi has special judges...they don't wait in line with beat cops ...

the judges have security clearance ,and probably will sign off on anything..
but a the type of warrentless search that is going on now is over the top

Warrantless searches with 3 letter agencies involved = no warrants. Been on the cyber side, same thing. Tear apart your network, computers, disk forensically, email, browsing, downloads, deleted items [not gone although you think they are] etc

If you want to truly delete items you have to get disk wipe like the one Morton uses. But if you set it to the ultimate wipe it can take a week or more depending on size of disk. Of course that is for standard hard disk with a metallic platter. SSDs also retain the files too and there was s another type of software needed to delete those files forever. Of course the best way is to physically destroy the drive into a powder. If you leave pieces chances are they can reassemble and get your shit from the pieces.

Fact it.s, in today's world they convince people to give up a microscopic bit of privacy and freedom in the name of keeping you safe. The. It is a bit more because of new threat or threat got bigger. Before you know it, you have given up your freedom for the price of security and then it is too late. To quote a favorite movie of mine..."earth, Hitler, 1933"...

anyhow , they recommended a virtual machine on top of a Linux install that was on either a cdrom or a encrypted usb stick

the guide is very detailed , and I don't think you need a phd in computer science , infact it looks like something that was written for average people ( lots of pictures!! )

you get caught , you stomp on the stick.. all you need is a old 4gb or 8 gb stick. and boot to the stick.

of course if they are really tracing you , then a hardware base mac address is still going to be on your computer, unless of course you get a usb network connector and stomp on that as well.

then of course ...all they have to do is look for the guy that is stomping....LOL
