Did you have an EKG or ??? You are experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath??? Take care of yourself brother, that would be worrying me too.Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. (Philippians 2:3)

Re: Dammit always something
Nitro is not for in case you start having a heart attack. They are for chest pains caused by lack of blood flow to the heart. If you have a heart attack it's too late for nitro. Our bodies naturally make nitro which allows the arteries to expand due to blood flowing through them. When we either don't make enough nitro or become resistant to nitro our blood pressure goes up the heart doesn't receive enough blood and you have chest pains. Most likely he suspects you have a blockage somewhere in your system. If it is severe enough the blood supply will get cut off, your heart muscles will incur damage then you have the heart attack. Nitro wont prevent a heart attack it is for lowering blood pressure and relieving chest pains.
I tree various medicines for chest chest pain including nitro. Didn't want it though because you can't use drugs like cialis. I take metoprolol and Rene a for chest pains. They help. The metaprolol keeps my heart rate down and blood pressure down. Renexa is for the chest pains. I don't have a block but have sluggish blood flow. I get winded real easy going up stairs and tired a lot.
The quickest way way to assess your heart s an angiogram. You should see if you can get that right away. Stress test is still like a week of waiting for the results unless the ekg indicates problems while your doing the test. If you do get the stress tes make sure it is the nuclear one. Keep us updated and do not panic. You will be fine.SEMPER FI, DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR, STRENGTH AND HONOR, SOMETIMES THE FROST MAKES THE BLADE STICK

Yeah I had something similar , I think Chesty is right . if they were worried they would have admitted you.
if you had a blockage , they would want to address that ASAP.
never had nitro, ( except of course NOS supliments)
I don't think you have anything to worry about

Re: Dammit always something
Sounds like he went to his gp with these symptoms and this is what the doc did. Not sure but sounds pretty vague. These exact symptoms also present in panic attacks. I say get to that cardiologist and head to the er if this happens again."Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes."
