    Re: Fave Pre-Workout?

You guys are right but I have come so far and just cant imagine a forced layoff of any kind. It flared up real bad like this a few months ago. I switched to DB for chest presses and military for awhile and the pain became much more manageable. Will try that again and lighten up for 4 weeks. If it is still this bad I will go to the doctor.

I had hurt my back real bad several years ago. Gained a ton of weight over a couple years as I couldnt work out and then just lost my desire the worse I felt and looked. When I felt better I couldnt believe what I had "let"happen to my physique. I weighed in last week and finally broke the 100lbs lost mark. I am down 101.2 as we sit today. I cant stop now!

Nice work buddy...do some floor presses and flys, that way your elbows don't drop down past your shoulders. Zed introduced these to me and make a world of difference. Use DB when doing them...see how they feel.

I am honestly at the point that I may have to drop barbell for dumbbell completely. I was benching 350 for reps a few months ago well on my way back to over 400 and my left shoulder has gotten so bad now that I can't warmup with the bar without excruciating pain. I can't even sleep on my left side anymore? If I even try to flex my traps the pain is intense in my left shoulder.

But get this, I can military DB press with 100s with almost no pain during the movement. Any of you dealt with anything similar. It really seems that flat or decline I have pain, but the more I raise the incline the pain lessens?? I don't have time for doctors or surgery but fear I may be headed there. Any advice/insight/personal experience is greatly appreciated!
A loooooooooooooooooooooonnnnng time ago I hurt my shoulder doing behind the neck press..........had to have surgery to repair shoulder impingement.........fucking thing has never been right and like you flat and decline aggravate it.

Inclines are ok but everytime I go back to flat I get hurt.

All I do are inclines now

I'll probably never do flat heavy again........flat DB movements are ok

If had a do over I should have just chained myself to the squat rack for 6 months and it may have corrected itself (maybe) surgery didn't help (me) in IMO

Thx MA, i do incorporate floor presses. They now hurt when they didnt before. I find it interesting that as soon as I start adding incline the pain reduces? Flat to decline is excruciating.

Glad I am not crazy. Usually people struggle with incline or military. Like you, my issue is flat to decline. Hell, if I raise the incline on the bench one notch up from flat the pain reduces very noticably. Maybe I should just use common sense and stop doing things that hurt. LOL!

Lol that funny I always try to revisit skull crushers. They always hurt as well.

Yes it's crucial to listen to the body. If it hurts stop right away!

So true guys. I keep trying to flat bench, dips, etc. same result every time. Isn't that the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. We will never learn! ;-)

I questioned why he was wearing a shirt... he was instantly robbed of his jacked physique .. ... anyhow you never know what is under the shirt?

Yup! Strength and size are often misleading! IMHO strength is genetic. It's about tendon and ligament tie in points. Sure anyone can become stronger but some guys just have it!

My buddy benches 465 for reps at 225lbs on his last set not just 1rm starting fresh. He is close to 505. seated military presses 365. I don't care WTF I do....I could never catch his ass. He is mutant strong! After like 2 month deployment he seated shoulder pressed 225 like It was no big deal. Mutants I tell ya!

Not actually a preworkout but Redline energy drink got me going pretty good. I seemed to fatigue faster but the pump was insane. On the way out of the gym I couldn't even reach back to put my hood up.
