Funny, I was thinking the same thing- SPP has definitely got some writing talent.Originally posted by Ebo10 View PostHey SPP that review you gave of your experience while having the study... Was amazing! I felt like I was in the room with you the whole time! Very well written my friend. You should write a book or something lol I always enjoy reading your posts. I pray that this Cpap is the ticket for your well being and happiness in all aspects from your marriage to the relationship with your kids, family, and friends. I hope your wife responded well when she found out you were having the study and also when you got approved for the machine. How was that conversation on both ends? Curious as to what she had to say and how she responded. Good luck my friend!

It is a life changer. Just remember no hair on your upper lip and you will be fine. If you have a mustache or don't shave often you will not get a good seal. I tried a short nap today with no Cpap, started snoring inside of five minutes. Woke my ass up every time. Need Cpap or my mouth piece for apnea. It works really good too.

I know many guys who's lives have improved by CPAP. I'm a member of an organization that meets for a couple weeks every summer and retreats in the redwoods. I bet 50% of the guys use it and say it was the best thing they ever did. I think it's like the frog in the pot of hot water kind of thing. It's gradual and you don't realize that your own normal isn't normal at all.
I'm going in for my second study Tuesday. Hopefully it will be an accurate assessment. The first one didn't seem so. I've gotten a lot of solid advice about getting a better read this time from the clinic and others that have been tested.

Would you rather be an ass to your family and get closer to death everyday (heart failure) or wear this shit on your face and be the best you can and live longer?Originally posted by Encino_Mang View PostI really need to get this study done myself.....can't believe you can sleep with that shit on your face though.
At least that's what I hope for myself. I'll let you know by next weekend.

The main reason I'm not in bed with her now is I dinky want to keep her up snoring all night. Plus, I'm getting used to the recliner since that looks like it's going to be my bed for.Originally posted by chesty View PostIt will trust me. But it's better than not being interested in going to bed because your wife is in the bed. I love her, I'm just not thrilled with the idea. Unfortunately that gets to be more often as time goes on.
I figure the first couple nights with the CPAP, I'll go to bed with her then that FrSatSun I'll sleep in the recliner.
I joke it is worth it and I hope it's what gets me past this depressed shitty demeanor I've had.
Thanks chesty!

One thing I hate....... I have to wait a few days now. I know it will save days of my life, but it sucks to have worn that CPAP for a few hours and now nothing until I get it Monday. Haha
As weird as I am, it's currently 1:30 am and I went to bed/sleep at 9 pm. I've working up, that I know of, 9 times. No telling how many more without knowing.
Gah, this sucks, but it'll be worth it come Monday night.

Re: SPP's Sleep Study Thread - Please join in with yours.
The tech told me that during the sleep study, I had to lay on my back. Once I hit my own machine, I can sleep however I like. So, in my weird ways of sleeping, I'll fall asleep on my sides and I will end up sleeping and waking up on my back.Originally posted by chesty View PostCouple things. With my setup which is exactly what you wore, I sleep however I want. Sidebar, back, stomach it's great.
Second,go see your dentist if you grind or clench your teeth. Most apnea people do. I got this mouth piece I wear pretty much 24/7 and I sleep even better when using Cpap. Plus I don't get twisted and knotted muscles in my neck and between my shoulder blades anymore. I was clenching teeth so hard, I popped a filling out. Get this checked. Mouthpiece plus Cpap equals heaven!
Well, I'll be in a recliner for a bit and I'm sure I'll have to stay in my back in bed until my shoulder heals enough to allow me to lay on it.
I have a check up next week with my dentist, I'll ask about it.
Thank you.
